  1. Go to https://github.com/ and click Sign up

  2. Enter your UConn email address, a unique password of your choice, your NetID as your username, and then click Continue

Do not re-use your NetID password or a password used for any other account

 

  1. Leave the Email preferences box unchecked and click Continue

  2. Click Verify to verify your account

  3. Complete the puzzle (yours will likely be different) and click Submit

  4. Check your email for a verification code and enter it in the boxes displayed (you will automatically be re-directed after entering the code)

  5. Click Skip personalization at the bottom of the page

At this point, you should be re-directed back to the GitHub homepage, and your new GitHub account should be created.
