Scanning to PDF from UConn Xerox Printers/Copiers
Students, faculty, and staff can create more accessible scanned PDF documents from UConn Xerox Printers/Copiers.
Selecting OCR (Optical Character Recognition) for PDFs created at UConn printers converts typed or printed text into machine-encode text to be read by a screen reader and searched.
Step 1: Select email from the Xerox home page.
Step 2: After adding recipients, select file type by choosing the “.pdf” bubble
Step 3: Select “More” from the pop-up list.
Step 4: Under “Searchable”, select the “Yes” option.
Step 5: The document language can be changed from the “English” or “Current Language” bubble.
Step 6: Once done, select the “OK” bubble to save changes.
