Adding Captions Using a Transcript (Kaltura's Alignment Service)

Students, faculty, and staff can add captions to videos in Kaltura that were created using a transcript. 

  1. Log in to HuskyCT.

  2. Click on My Kaltura Media. Alternatively, you can:

    1. Navigate to Mediaspace

    2. Click on Guest.

    3. Click on My Media to log in.

  3. Click on the title of the video to which you wish to add the transcript.

  4. Below the video on the right-hand side, click Actions.

  5. Click on Caption and Enrich.

  6. Select Alignment for the Feature field.

  7. Click on Upload txt to upload your transcript. The transcript file type must be TXT (i.e., Windows Notepad).

  8. Click Save.

  9. Click Submit.

If you need professional caption services, UConn has a contract in place with 3Play Media. Follow these instructions to create an account. You should then contact Academic IT at ait.uconn.edu to link your account to Kaltura.
