  • This is only an employer sponsored visa (typically faculty and post docs)

  • Up to 3 years at a time, 6 years maximum

• Lawful Permanent Resident (LPR)

  • UConn generally reserves this for tenure track faculty

    • Tenure Track faculty need to be LPR by the time they reach Tenure (see PTR section on the left for additional information on Tenure Track and the Tenure process).

• J-1: intended for international exchange students

• F-1: student visa

Visiting Faculty (Ex. Visiting Asst. Professor, Visiting Instructors) are considered unclassified employees and are hired within Page Up and then processed into CORE.
