11-month Faculty Summer Salary

11-month faculty can take their one month at any time during the year.  All Special Payroll appointments for 11-month faculty need to be processed through PageUp for approval regardless of when the appointment occurs because they are treated similarly to 12-month appointments. As opposed to regular 9 or 10 month appointment summer salaries, you should use the CORE template that matches the particular PageUp request (non-teaching). 9 and 10 months don’t go through PageUp, and are hired in CORE as special payroll teaching (even though these usually aren’t teaching and are research).

The 12-12ths max is based on an employee’s full time annual salary, so if a faculty is 11 months but 50% FTE, the full time salary would be used to calculate the additional month at the full time rate. You do not need to reduce the additional month by 50%.
