This article shows how a mass mail account can be configured as a separate profile.

Requesting a Mass Mail Account

Before configuring a mass mail account, you must request a mass mail account by emailing massmail@uconn.edu.

Once you receive credentials for mass mailing from the e-mail team, you can use them to configure a new profile in Outlook and have it prompt you to select which profile to access: your mass mail profile or your normal outlook profile.

Setting Up the Mass Mail Account in a New Email Profile

  1. To set it up as a separate profile, open Control Panel and click Mail.

  2. Click Show Profiles.

  3. Check “Prompt for a profile to be used” and click add.

  4. Enter the name of your mass mail account in an email format, appending “@appmail.uconn.edu” to the account name and then click OK.

  5. Select Advanced options and Let me setup my account manually check box, and then click Connect.

  6. After clicking ‘Connect’, Outlook may appear to do nothing for about 60 seconds. This is normal.

7. In the Outlook dialog box, choose ‘IMAP’.

8. In the IMAP Account Settings dialog box, enter the server information
