The student’s self-reported ethnicity recorded at admission.  A student can have multiple ethnicities.

WHITE - White

CENAMER - Central American

BLACK - Black/African American

HISP - Hispanic

OTHWH - Other White

ASIAN - Asian

ASIAN

• The ETHNICITY_DTL table includes the Hispanic or Latin Y/N field (HISP_LATINO).

• This is not IPEDS ethnicity.  IPEDS ethnicity encapsulates self-reported ethnicities into pre-defined reporting groups for official reporting.

• The DIVERS_ETHNIC table contains the Primary Indicator if student identifies one of multiple ethnicities as their primary ethnicity.  Students do not have to define a primary ethnicity.
