Granting Access to Student Records & Financial Information

The student can grant anyone access to their student financial records. There are 3 types of access. Below are step-by-step instructions on how to set them up. Once they are set up as a Delegate and Authorized User, they may visit our website to login.

FERPA Consent (Share My Information) | UConn Privacy

FERPA is known as the Family Educational Rights & Privacy Act of 1974. The goal is to protect the student’s academic record & protect students' privacy.

The University’s FERPA Designee Pin Page allows students to grant permission to certain university offices to discuss certain types of information related to their education records or information contained in student records with individuals specifically designated by the student. Students may log into the FERPA Designee Pin Page to grant anyone permission.

  1. Delegate User

To allow a parent, guardian, partner and or others access to view student records, view the fee bill and download the 1098-T tax form, the student will need to initiate the process by adding a contact in Student Admin. Once the student grants access to view student records, the Delegate User will receive an email from the address UConn_Delegation@uconn.edu. This email will include a link to create an account. To allow parents, guardians, partners and or others to login to the payment portal to view fee bill, make a payment, enroll in a payment plan and download an invoice, the student may set them up as an Authorized User.

Authorized Users will still need a 4-digit FERPA pin if they wish to email or call-in asking questions about the student's fee bill. The Authorized User must be set up as a Delegate User to view and download the 1098-T Form.

Student grants access: To set up an Authorized User, the student will need to login through Student Admin to be directed to the Flywire payment portal to grant access.
