Add a Stream Channel or Video to a Team

This article is for students, faculty, and staff who wish to add a stream channel or video to a Team.

Adding a Stream tab to your team allows members to collaborate with videos. Any team member can add a Stream tab to their team. This assumes that the channel or video is already created. For more instructions on how to create a channel, see Creating a Channel.

  1. Log into Office 365

  2. Click on the grid icon in the top left-hand corner.

  3. Select Teams from the menu that appears.

  4. Open the team for which you wish to add the Stream tab.

  5. Click the + icon underneath the search bar.

  6. Type “stream” into the search bar.

  7. Select the Stream icon.

  8. Select either the option to upload a channel or the option to upload a video.

  9. Type or copy/paste the name or URL of the channel or video into the Search or paste a direct link to a Microsoft Stream channel field.

  10. Select the channel or video from the drop-down menu.

  11. Create a name for the tab in the Tab name field.

  12. Indicate whether you intend to post this tab to the team channel.

  13. Click Save.

There is an issue known to Microsoft where an added channel will not be available for viewing immediately after adding it to the team. Until Microsoft fixes the issue, it may take a few hours until the tab is viewable.

The channel/video will now be viewable through the created tab. Below is an example of what a channel tab will look like:
