Installing and Configuring Pulse Secure Client for Windows

Note: Pulse Secure was retired on November 16th, 2022, it has been replaced by Cisco AnyConnect

Students, faculty, and staff can install and configure Pulse Secure Client on Windows.

  1. Visit the Pulse Secure Client page on the software site and choose the download that is appropriate for your operating system (OS).

  2. Run the downloaded installer.
    Note: You must be an Administrator on your device to install Pulse Secure. If you cannot obtain admin rights, see Using Pulse Secure VPN Without Admin Permissions.

  3. Launch the installed application.

    1. In the Start menu, search for Pulse Secure.

    2. Click on the app to open the client.

  4. In the Pulse Secure window that appears, click the plus (+) button to add a new connection.

  5. On the Add a Connection screen, enter UConn VPN for the Name and vpn.uconn.edu for the Server URL.

  6. If Type is requested, choose the option that lists Connect Secure (VPN).

  7. Click Add.

  8. Click Connect.

  9. Enter your NetID and password to log in.

  10. Click Connect again.

You should now be successfully connected and able to access UConn resources.
