This article is for faculty, students and staff, and provides instructions for changing your default audio and camera options, as well as for changing your preferences during a WebEx call.

The "Use system setting" option will tell Webex to use the microphone/speaker/camera that Windows/MacOS labels as its default. You may choose a device different than your OS default.

Before you Join

The Video Preview window appears after you click on the link to join the room. After altering your microphone/camera choice you may click on Start/Join Meeting.

If Webex initially only detects one camera, you are unable to change your choice of Webcam before hosting/joining the meeting.

During a Call

  1. Click on the caret in the Mute/Unmute button to alter Microphone Settings. Click on the caret in the Start/Stop Video button to alter Camera Settings.

  2. A pop-up menu will show the other audio input/output options.
