Faculty, staff, students and student employees can access room calendars in Office 365 / Outlook.

There are two ways to access room calendars:

  • Using Office 365 online
  • Using the Outlook desktop client

Note

The permissions granted to you determine your ability to update a calendar:

  • Read-only access allows viewing of existing entries but not making any changes.
  • Authors may create and edit their own entries.
  • Editors may add their own entries and edit all other entries.

Open the room calendar in Office 365 online 

  1. Sign into the Office 365 online portal by going to https://email.uconn.edu and clicking on Office 365.
  2. Login with
    • Login ID: UConn email address (firstname.lastname@uconn.edu, student####@ad.uconn.edu OR NetIDwork@uconn.edu)
    • Password: Faculty, staff and students use their NetID password.  Student workers use their student work account password.

  3. Once logged in, you will see the tiles of apps available to you. Click Explore all your apps and then click Calendar.
  4. Select Your Calendars on the left side of the window and click the +.  Enter the resource number (example, resource4370) or display name (example, ~UITS - Help Center Training Schedule) of the calendar and hit Enter.
  5. The calendar will now be displayed with any other open calendars open.

Newly-requested student accesses to shared calendars are granted under student worker accounts (netidwork@uconn.edu).

Open the room calendar in Outlook

  1. Open Outlook by clicking the Outlook icon on your computer. If you are prompted to log in, enter:
    • Username: UConn email address (firstname.lastname@uconn.edu, student####@ad.uconn.edu OR NetIDwork@uconn.edu)
    • Password: Faculty, staff and students use their NetID password.  Student workers use their student work account password.

  2. Click Calendar, located near the bottom left corner of your Outlook inbox window
  3. In the Home tab, select Open Calendar
    • Select either From Address Book… , From Room List… or Open Shared Calendar...

  4. Enter the display name (example, ~ITS – Conference Room 102A) or resource number (example, resource0010) of the calendar. Double-click the calendar from the search results.
  5. The calendar will be displayed.
