Science 1 G01 - Lighting Control
This is an explanation of how to use the lighting controls in the Science 1 Auditorium.
Wall Switches
By each of doors to the room, there is a lighting control panel on the front wall. These two panels will stay in sync with one another.
This panel has three sections:
numbered buttons representing the lighting zones
1= whole room
2 = strip lights above the two monitors
3 = strip lights in room
4 = spotlights on rails in room
On/Off
Dimmer buttons
Each numbered button either lights up, or turns off, when you tap on it.
To control a zone, tap on the corresponding button to light it up.
Let’s say you would like to turn off lighting Zone 3. You need to tap on 1,2, and 4 so that only 3 is lit up. Once 3 is the only one “selected” you can use the dimmer buttons or the On / Off.
If you want to turn off Zones 2 and 3, tap on the number buttons so that only 2 and 3 are lit up. Then press the Off button.
Turning Zone 2 off helps minimize reflections on the two monitors on the front wall and therefore maximizes their visibility.
Control at teaching station
The lighting control panel attached to the teaching station is a touch screen and offers more granular control.
By tapping on the clapperboard icon you can control the dim level of the entire room. However, if you click on the lightbulb icon, you can control the whole room dimming with smaller increments.
After clicking on the lightbulb icon, you can then click on the multi-lightbulb icon in order to control the dim of every lighting group in the room, not just the predefined zones. Scroll up and down this list by dragging your finger up and down the screen. Then drag your finger on the slider of any light group to adjust their dim level.
