3Play Media Captions

Faculty and staff can send multimedia files to 3Play Media for professional captioning.

The University has contracted with 3Play Media for professional captioning services. These services include integrations with YouTube, Kaltura, and other platforms. For more information about captioning services through 3Play Media, see 3 Play Media Captioning and Transcription.   

Requesting a 3Play Media Account

To submit material to 3Play Media for captioning, you need an account. To request an account, 

  1. Identify your department's primary account administrator.
    NOTE: 3Play Media will refer to this administrator as a Super User. Super Users have access to all account information, including billing and purchase order (PO) details.

  2. Determine billing information for your 3Play Media account. This includes your billing address and KFS number.

  3. Upload your media to 3Play Media.

  4. Submit your first captioning PO. 

  5. Read through the different options for turnaround time. 3Play Media will caption your media, and upload the finished product to your account portal. You can download and use your captioned media.

    NOTE: The standard turnaround is three business days.

  6. 3Play Media will caption your media and upload the finished product to your account portal. At this point, you will be able to download and use your captioned media. The Super User will then fulfill the monthly invoice, drawing from the departmental budget.

  7. Repeat Steps 1 through 4 to submit additional captioning requests.
