Fixing OneDrive Sync Problems on Windows

The following steps will ensure OneDrive or OneDrive for Business applications and processes are running correctly, that you are able to access your files online, and that you have enough room for the right files to sync.

Fixing the Red 'x' icon

  1. Click the OneDrive for Business icon in the bottom right of the Windows taskbar.

    1. If you don’t see the OneDrive cloud icon you may need to click the upwards arrow to see the hidden icons.

    2. If you have both a personal OneDrive and OneDrive for Business accounts, you may see two icons: one white (this is your "Personal" OneDrive) and one blue (your organization's OneDrive for Business).

  2. Select the OneDrive icon and select view sync problems to view the error.
