Expiring an Account

Staff can learn about expired accounts in the Account section of the Chart of Accounts page in Kuali Financials (KFS).  

Review the following points for more information about expired accounts:  

• Accounts expire once they reach their expiration date.  

• Business rules on transactions may prevent the use of expired accounts or provide warnings when an expired account is being used and requires a manual override.  

• The continuation account will accept transactions that are processed on the account after the account expiration date if an override option is not chosen. 

• To expire an account, use Account Edit to add an expiration date. A continuation account will be required.
