Kuali Rice Implementation

Kuali Rice will provide middleware infrastructure for the Kuali Financial System and ad hoc workflow applications.

The scope of the project is limited to the following:

Kuali Technical Infrastructure
Kuali Rice installation, configuration and customizations for the University of Connecticut implementation which includes the following components
  • Kuali Enterprise Workflow (KEW) – workflow engine
  • Kuali Nervous System (KNS) – development framework
  • Kuali Enterprise Notification (KEN) – notification system for business communications
  • Kuali Identity Management (KIM) – privilege management system
  • Kuali Service Bus (KSB) – web services infrastructure
Conversion of current production Kuali workflow applications:
  • Faculty Consulting Workflow (FACCON)
    • Application will be rebuilt as a KRICE application with additional enhancements
  • Administrative Task Authorization (ATA)
    • Data will be migrated to KIM and KFS and application disabled 
  • Dependent Tuition Waiver (DTW)
    • Application will be rebuilt as a KRICE application
  • Inventory Control Workflow (ICW)
    • Application will be replaced by Kuali Financial System (KFS)
  • Travel Request workflow
    • Application will be rebuilt as a KRICE application until the Travel module is implemented in KFS (Travel)
  • Request for Encryption Exemption (REEW)
    • Application will be replaced by a new KRICE application for Security Policy Exemption Workflow (SPEW)
    • Application will be enhanced with a new KRICE application for Confidential Data Request Workflow (CDRW)
  • Master University Department Table (MUDT
    • KFS will manage a version of the MUDT for KFS and ad hoc workflow applications
    • Kuali Services will be developed to support ad hoc workflow applications
