  1. Before installing, ensure your NetID is synced

  2. Choose the appropriate tab below to see the install instructions.

 Windows
  1. Open the Start Menu by moving your cursor to the bottom-left corner of your screen to open the Taskbar, and then click on the Windows icon. Alternatively, press the Windows key on your keyboard to open the menu.

  2. Type in Software Center and find and open this application.

  3. Inside the Software Center, you will see a list of applications. Click on Jabber provided by Cisco. Next, click Install.

  4. You will see a notification in the bottom-right corner letting you know that it is installing.

  5. Once the download and installation are complete, close Software Center.

  6. Open the Start Menu again. If you do not see Cisco Jabber at the top of the menu, type in Jabber again to find it.

  7. When the application opens, enter [your NetIDwork]@uconn.edu and your NetIDwork password.

  8. If you are prompted with a message asking you to reset your account, press Reset. This will not affect your account.

  9. You will be brought to the Jabber application now.

 MacOS
  1. On your keyboard, press CommandSpacebar to open the Spotlight search. Type in Self Service.

  2. Use your NetID and NetID password to sign into Self Service.

  3. Find Cisco Jabber in the list and click on Install.

  4. The application will begin to download. After the download finishes, click Install.

  5. When the application opens, enter [your NetIDwork]@uconn.edu and your NetIDwork password.

  6. If you are prompted with a message asking you to reset your account, press Reset. This will not affect your account.

  7. You will be brought to the Jabber application now.
