This article is for students, faculty, and staff who experience slow connection speeds or are unable to access UConn network resources over Wi-Fi when the Pulse VPN client application is installed.

Info

The problem is caused by an unknown interoperability issue with the Juniper Network Service and the physical wireless adapter when Pulse Desktop Client is installed.

Solution

Disable the Juniper Network Service from both the virtual and physical wireless network adapters.

  1. Ensure that Pulse VPN is connected.

  2. Open Control Panel and select Network and Sharing Center then select Change adapter settings.

  3. Right-click on the WiFi adapter and select Properties.
  4. Uncheck the box for Juniper Network Service and click OK

  5. Right-click on the Pulse Secure virtual adapter, if it exists, and select Properties.
  6. Uncheck the box for Juniper Network Service and click OK.
  7. Reboot.
