This article covers how to add, edit and unlink links in KB pages.

  1. Go to kb.uconn.edu.

  2. Log in with your NetID and password. Student employees should log in with their student work account credentials.

  3. Select an article and click Edit icon on the top right.

    1. You will be directed to the Confluence version of the article.

  4. Click on the page and select the word or words where you want to insert the link.

  5. Select the Link icon on the top bar of the screen or use the keyboard shortcut (Ctrl+K).

  6. Add your hyperlink into the “Paste Link” bar. Confluence offers two ways to insert your link:

    1. For external websites, copy and paste a link into the bar.

    2. If you are linking to another article in Confluence, search for the article or select it from the recently viewed documents displayed below the “Text to Display” bar.
      (plus) Tip: Find the article that you wish to link to and then go back to the page where you are adding the link. The article you are linking to will appear in the list of “Recently viewed” articles.

  7. Press Enter.

📘 Display Options

These options only work for Confluence-linked articles.

  1. Click on the inserted link.

  2. Go to Display URL, and select one of the options in the list:

    1. Display URL: Displays the entire URL

    2. Display Inline: Displays the name of the article/website

    3. Display Card: Displays the name and a description of the article/website

  1. Click on the inserted link.

  2. Click Edit Link.

    1. You will be directed back to the “Paste Link” and “Text to Display” bars.

  3. Once you have finished editing, press Enter.

  1. Click on the inserted link.

  2. Select Unlink.
