Schedule Webex Meetings from Google Calendar

Students, faculty, and staff can schedule Webex Meetings sessions through Google Calendar. Users can create either Scheduled Meetings or Personal Rooms Meetings.

ITS recommends that you use uconn-cmr.webex.com to create and manage your meetings. The plugin described below lacks options and clarity that exists in the web-portal version.

Adding Webex to Chrome

To use this integration, users must add the Cisco Webex Chrome Extension. 

Setting Up the Cisco Webex Chrome Extension

  1. Navigate to calendar.google.com. 

  2. Click Create to schedule a new event.

  3. In the pop-up that appears, click More options.

  4. Allow Webex permission to view and use your Google Calendar.

  5. Click on the Webex icon on the right side of your window to open the side panel.

  6. Click Get Started to set up the extension.

  7. When asked which Webex site you would like to use, either select uconn-cmr.webex.com or enter it in the Enter your site URL: field.

    • The side panel will then display your Webex information.

Using the Cisco Webex Chrome Extension

  1. Navigate to calendar.google.com. 

  2. Click Create to schedule a new event.

  3. Click on the date and time to set them.

  4. Click on the video conferencing arrow to add Webex to your calendar event.

  5. You will now see Webex information along with your typical Google Calendar information.

  6. Continue to schedule as you normally would in Google Calendar.
