Test Options in Ultra Course View

This article is intended for instructors looking to configure HuskyCT Ultra Test Options.

Some settings are only available if the test uses questions, such as Multiple Choice or Essay questions.

Details and Information

A. Due Date

  • Default: 24 hours after the test is created.

  • Any submissions after this date will be marked as Late.

B. Prohibit Late Submission

  • Prevents students from completing an in-progress attempt after the due date.

  • In-progress attempts will be automatically submitted at the due date, regardless of if they have time remaining on the time limit.

C. Prohibit New Attempts after due date

  • Prevents a student from starting a new attempt after the due date.

D. Allow Class Conversation

  • Creates a Discussion board like space for students to interact that is specific to the test.

E. Collect Submissions Offline

  • Indicated instructors will collect a physical paper containing the answers and manually enter grades.

A. Display one question at a time

  • Shows only one question at a time to students.

B. Prohibit backtracking

  • Can be turned on, only when A is on.

  • Students can’t return to previously answered questions

C. Randomize Questions

  • Questions appear in random order for students.

D. Randomize Answers

  • Multiple choice and matching answers are randomized for students.

E. Randomize pages

  • Pages appear in random order for students.

  • “Do not randomize first page” will ensure that students start at the same point, then get randomized pages from thereon.

Grading and Submissions

 

A. Grade Category

  • Gradebook category that the test is calculated in.

B. Attempts Allowed

  • Default: 1

  • Number of times students can take the test.

  • If multiple attempts are allowed, instructors must also configure which attempt counts for the student in the Gradebook.

C. Grade using

  • The grade format that will be displayed for students and instructors in the Gradebook.

D. Maximum points

  • Default: 100 or the total of the points assigned to each question.

  • Total possible points a student can earn on the test.

E. Anonymous Grading

  • Prevents instructors from knowing who’s test they are grading.

  • Student names become visible after posting all grades.

F. 2 graders per student

  • Default: Off

  • Assign 2 graders in the course to grade each assignment

G. Peer review

  • Default: Off

  • Assign students a number of assignments to anonymously peer review

H. Delegated grading

  • Default: Off

  • Assign a certain number of students to grade per grader in the course

I. Post assessment grades automatically

  • Default: On

  • The Test Grade will be visible to students automatically once the test is graded.

  • Eliminates the need for instructors to manually Post Grades for the test.

 

Assessment Results

A. Submission View

  • Controls when students can view their test submission.

B. Automated Question Feedback

  • Controls when students can view instructor written automatic feedback for the questions.

C. Question Scores

  • Controls when students can see the scores for each of the test questions.

D. Correct Answers

  • Controls when students can see correct answers.

 

Assessment Security

A. Access Code

  • Allows instructors to require students to use a passcode to access the exam.

  • If enabled, a 6 digital numerical passcode will be randomly generated by HuskyCT.

  • Instructors can generate a new passcode by click the “refresh” icon to the right of the passcode.

B. Respondus

  • Default: Not Required

  • Allows instructors to require Lockdown Browser or use remote or live proctoring to administer online exams.

Additional Tools

A. Time Limit

  • Allows instructors to set a timer, during which the test must be complete.

  • Instructor can also chose to require the attempt be submitted automatically at the end of time limit.

B. Use Grading Rubric

  • Rubrics cannot be attached to Tests at this time.

C. Goals and standards

  • Assign the exam to a goal or standard.

D. Assigned groups

  • Default: Not Assigned to groups.

  • Used to create a group test.

  • Similar to a group Assignment in Original Course View.

E. Originality Report

  • Essay question submissions are submitted to SafeAssign for review.
