Submitting Your Preliminary Plan of Study
The Preliminary Plan of Study incorporates completed, enrolled, and planned courses and generates a report that is routed directly to the student's advisor for review and approval.
Students who are at the junior level or higher should submit a Preliminary Plan of Study in the Student Administration System if their school or college requires them to do so.
Before submitting your Preliminary Plan of Study, students can Use the Academic Planner tool to indicate courses for which they intend to register. The Academic Planner tool can be used to populate your Plan of Study with your missing required courses.
Log in to your Student Administration System account.
Click the Academic Progress & Advising tile on the Student Homepage.
Select Advisement Reports from the tile menu.
Select the Run Planner Report button on the Advisement Reports landing page. After a few moments, the Planner Report will display in a new tab.
Select Submit Preliminary Plan of Study.
Make sure you have followed the instructions on Using the Academic Planner. If you have, click OK to Confirm Your Request.
You will be prompted with a comment box for your major(s)/minor(s). The title of the major/minor is listed in the header of the comment box. Comments and attachments should be provided for anything that needs explanation or additional approval that does not show as satisfied on your Planner Report.
Click OK to submit your comments with your Preliminary Plan of Study. Once submitted, you will receive an email confirmation and your plan of study will be routed directly to your advisor. You can monitor your Preliminary Plan of Study status through View My Plan of Study Approvals.
