ReportCaster & Scheduled Reports

Finance Systems utilizes the WebFOCUS 8 ReportCaster functionality for scheduling and regular distribution of specific centrally developed reports. This functionality is also available to end users to create schedules and distribution lists for their own custom content, but this content is not officially supported by the Finance Systems team.

Internal reports for content areas exist under "Scheduled Reports" within the Financial_Reporting content area, and are restricted by security as to who can view or make changes to them.

 

Centrally Supprted Schedule Creation

Schedules created around centrally developed reports that form the "batch processes" for Finance business areas should adhere to the following guidelines

  • Documentation / Service ticket detailing reason for creation, source report, and initial schedule
  • Centrally supported RC jobs should be owned and executed by a resource id once in Production (NOT the id of the developer creating them)
  • Centrally supported RC jobs should reside within the "Scheduled Reports" folder in their particular subject area, not within the parent folder of the report they were created from
