Faculty, staff and students may follow this guide to rename a site they are an Owner of.

Renaming a site

  1. Navigate to s.uconn.edu/sharepoint and click on the site you would like to delete.

  2. Once the site loads, it may be another few seconds before the settings gear appears at the top-right of the page. Click on this settings gear when it appears.

  3. In the list of settings, click on Site information.

  4. Remove the current site name and enter a new one.

  5. Click Save.

  6. Refresh the page to see your change.

It is possible for SharePoint sites to have the same name; their URL acts as their unique identifier. Exercise caution when creating multiple sites, as SharePoint won’t stop you from creating sites with the same name.
