Blackboard

Blackbord is UConn's Learning Management System.

Web

You can connect to Blackboard on any computer using this link. Blackboard doesn't require any special software or browser plugins to be installed. If you are having problems connecting to the website, first go to the official blackboard browser checker and make sure your browser is supported. If you are still having issues, send an email to techsupport@uconn.edu.

Mobile

There is an app available for students to connect to Blackboard with mobile technology. There is an iOS app as well as an Android app.

Communication and Collaboration

Collaborate

Your instructor may choose to use Blackboard Collaborate to meet with the class. This is an official Blackboard product that integrates with HuskyCT. No additional software or plugins are needed. For more information, head to our getting started page.

Webex

Webex is an alternative to Collaborate that your instructor may choose to use. While it does not integrate directly with Blackboard, it shares many of the same features. It also does not require any additional software or plugins to be installed. For more information, head to our getting started page.

Microsoft Teams

Microsoft Teams is a collaboration and productivity tool that is included with Office 365. With teams, you can chat with individual or groups, hold video meetings, store and share files, and connect with other third-party solutions. For more information, head to our getting started page.

G Suite

University email accounts and calendars for students are hosted on G Suite (formerly Google Apps for Education). For more information, head to our getting started page.

iClicker

iClicker is a technology that allows instructors to take attendance as well as polls. This technology will work remotely. For help getting started, head to the official documentation from iClicker. For further help, email techsupport@uconn.edu.

UConn Software Services

Students can download select software for both university, and personally-owned computers from the download portal, UConn OnTheHub. Sign in with your NetID and NetID password to see what is available to you.

UConn AnyWare Services

You can access software remotely through UConn AnyWare. With AnyWare Apps, you select only the applications you wish to use and use them online. With AnyWare Desktop, you connect to a virtual desktop that includes all the available software.

Store your documents in the cloud

As a student you can store your documents on the UConn P drive, or the university's copy of Microsoft OneDrive.

Connect to the UConn VPN

Virtual Private Networking (VPN) software creates a secure, encrypted connection between your off-campus computing device (laptop, phone, tablet) and the campus network. There are two ways to connect to VPN, either via the downloadable client or via the web.
