eduroam is a secure , federated configuration wireless network that gives visitors from participating students, faculty, and staff from UConn and other participating academic institutions encrypted access to wireless networks using their home institution credentials. UConn faculty, staff, and students can use eduroam for secure network access when at a participating institution. The visiting institution determines what resources eduroam users have access to.

How to Connect

Open up the wireless (Wi-Fi) settings on your device. Select eduroam for your network.

When prompted:

Visitors at UConn: Log in with yourusername@homeinstitution.edu and password.

  • Refer to your home institution's instructions on connecting to eduroam

  • For Android devices, enter radius.uconn.edu in the Domain field, and NetID@uconn.edu in the Identify field.

How to connect

To connect to eduroam, use your home institution credentials.

UConn members (anyone with a NetID)

  1. On your device, go to Wi-Fi settings.

  2. Select the eduroam network.

  3. When prompted, enter:

    1. Username: YourNetID@uconn.edu (example: abc12345@uconn.edu)

    2. Password: Your NetID password

You have connected to eduroam and have access to secure Wi-Fi.

Tip

For device-specific instructions, especially Android devices, follow the instructions for how to connect to UCONN-SECURE. The only difference in the instructions is that you need to enter NetID@uconn.edu in the username/identity field and not just your NetID.

For members of another institution visiting UConn:

  1. On your device, go to Wi-Fi settings.

  2. Select the eduroam network.

  3. When prompted, enter:

    1. Username: Your institutional email address, ex. username@homeinstitution.edu

    2. Password: Your institutional email password

You have connected to eduroam and can access the internet while on the UConn campus.
