UConn provided computers are typically pre-configured to connect to the appropriate on-campus printer in the user's department. However, there may be times when you need to help the user connect to the printer manually. The steps below will outline the process for finding the appropriate printer on the network and connecting the machine to it.

In Windows 10:

  1. Find the Printer on the print server using the Run command as shown above.
  2. Select the Start  button, then select Settings  > Devices > Printers & scanners.

  3. Select Add a printer or scanner. If the printer isn't listed, select, The printer that I want isn't listed.

  4. Select the radio button "Select a shared printer by name" option and type in the \\print server name\printer name and click Next (e.g.,  \\print.svr.uconn.edu\DDS-FoodCourt)

  5. The printer should then install with the correct driver.
