Changing Course Availability Dates

  • By default, the availability of academic courses are based on the official term dates. Courses will become available (open) to students on the 1st day of the term, and unavailable (closed) two weeks after the final day of the term.

  • Instructors can change the availability dates to open a course prior to official term start date or extend access after the term has ended.

  1. Click on the Course Settings option in the top right corner.

Changing Course Availability Status

  • When a course is set to “Private”, students can see the course (from their course list), but can’t enter the course.

  • When a course is set to “Complete”, the course becomes read-only for students, meaning that they can access the course and materials within, but not participate further.

  1. Navigate to your course in HuskyCT.

  2. Under Details and Actions, find Course is open.

  3. To change the status, click Students can access this course.

  4. A popup window will appear with two options, Make Course Private and Complete Course.

    1. Make Course Private- Students can not enter the course, but it will continue to appear in their course listing.

    2. Complete Course- Students can enter the course, but will no longer be able to participate.
