Creating New Content

All of the content and assessment tools detailed below are located in the “Create” menu. For instructions on creating content or assessments please see: Building Content in Ultra.

Course Content Items

Content Items are the primary course building tools instructors can use to post content and learning materials and organize content within their course.

Learning modules are one of two ways to organize content in Ultra. Similar to content folders, however, learning modules can be used to enforce sequential viewing of content, unlike a folder which lets students access the content in any order.

  1. Controls the visibility of the learning module.

  2. Requires students to view the content in sequence.

  3. Instructors can add an image to a learning module

Folders are the primary organizational tool in Ultra. They can be used to store other items and other folders. Content folders can only be nested two levels deep.

  1. Controls the visibility of the folder.

The Document item is the primary way to build non-assessment content. It can be used to share information, resources, files, and other materials with students. The Document item type in Ultra has been enhanced since Original.

The Teaching Tool with LTI Connection allows instructors to add tool links to a course for LTI tools such as Perusall.

  1. Controls the visibility of the item

  2. The link to the tool. Instructors can find this link in either our or the provider's documentation.

  3. Additional options for the tool link, including adding a gradebook entry to allow instructors to assess students using the tool.
