Configuring POP-IMAP Settings for Gmail

Students can set up POP-IMAP settings for their Gmail accounts.

1. Log into your UConn Gmail account.

2. Click on the gear icon.

3. Click on Settings.

4. Click on the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab.

5. Click the bullet for Enable IMAP.

6. Scroll to bottom of page and click Save Changes.

Incoming Server Settings for Mail Clients

Incoming Server Type: IMAP

Server Hostname (address): imap.gmail.com

Port/Encryption: 993 (SSl/TLS) – normal password

Username: firstname.lastname@uconn.edu

Password: password set up during opt-in process

Outgoing Server Settings for Mail Clients

Incoming Server Type: SMTP

Server Hostname (address): smtp.gmail.com

Port/Encryption: 587 (SSl/TLS) – normal password

Username: firstname.lastname@uconn.edu

Password: password set up during opt-in process
