To use the Minitab software you must first fill out the Minitab account request form. Then, you may access Minitab in two ways: the Minitab Portal or the Minitab Application located on UConn Anyware Desktop.

If you change your UConn Email Address after you fill out the form you may run into login issues with Minitab. If this occurs please contact the Technology Support Center.

If you do not receive the welcome email from Minitab within 48 hours, log in at licensing.minitab.com using the instructions below. If you are unable to log in to the Minitab Portal or Minitab in UConn Anyware Desktop, please open a support ticket with ITS.

Minitab Portal

Accessing via the Minitab Portal allows you to download and install Minitab on your local machine (Windows only) or via Minitab's web application.

Account Setup

  1. Once you have received the email from Minitab Support, follow the instructions given. Typically, they will ask you to set up your account at licensing.minitab.com.

  2. The first window will prompt you for your email. Input your @uconn.edu or @uchc.edu email to advance. 

  3. The second window will prompt you for your NetID login. Input your NetID and your NetID password.

  4. Choose University of Connecticut SSO, and then sign in with your NetID and NetID password.

  5. You will now be prompted to accept the licensing agreement from Minitab. Read the information, and then scroll to the bottom of the screen and select the checkbox next to “I accept the terms to...” After this, select the Accept option.

Accessing Minitab

You should be prompted with a welcome message and offered two ways to access Minitab via their portal. You can either download the software to your machine (Windows only) or use their Web Application.  

The Minitab Web App hosted in the Minitab Portal is not managed by UConn.

Minitab via Anyware Desktop

Accessing via the UConn Anyware Desktop portal allows you to use Minitab in a virtual environment on an internet-connected computer without having to install Minitab on it.

Accessing Anyware Desktop

  1. To access Anyware Desktop, go to anyware.uconn.edu and select the orange Launch Anyware button located on the right side of the screen. 

  2. Log in with your NetID and NetID Password.

  3. If prompted by the Citrix receiver, select Detect Receiver if you already have the Citrix Receiver installed. Otherwise, click Use Light Version

  4. Select the Anyware Desktop computer and then select the Open button to open an Anyware Desktop Session. 

Launching Minitab

Once the Anyware Desktop session has launched, select the Search Icon at the bottom of the window and begin typing “Minitab”. This should return with the application which you can simply select to launch.

If this is your first time signing in to UConn Anyware, it may take a few minutes for your applications to appear in the Start menu and search results.

Signing in

  1. Once you launch Minitab, it will open the Software and prompt you to fill sign into the license portal. In the first window, enter your UConn email ending in either @uconn.edu or @uchc.edu.

  2. Select Next.

  3. In the second window, enter your NetID and NetID password to log in.

  4. Choose University of Connecticut SSO, and then sign in with your NetID and NetID password.

  5. You now have access to Minitab via Anyware Desktop. You may be prompted to share data analytics, which you are free to choose whether you would like to or not.
