Faculty, staff, students and student employees can may access room calendars shared calendars (mostly for conference rooms) in Office 365 Web Access and in the Outlook Desktop Client.

The permissions granted to you determine your ability to update a calendar:

  • Read-only access allows

    viewing of

    you to view existing entries, but it does not allow you to make changes.

  • Authors may create and edit their own entries.

  • Editors may add their own and edit all other entries.

  1. Sign in to

    Office 365

    Outlook on the Web

    Access

    by going to email.uconn.edu and clicking on Office 365.

  2. Log in with

    your Login ID

  6. Click the Calendar icon in the top left corner.

  7. On the Calendars page, select Add Calendar.

  8. Select Add from directory in the left-hand menu and enter the shared calendar into the field. This can be added using the resource number (e.g., resource4370) or display name (

    of the calendar and hit Enter

  9. Select which calendar group you would like to add it to using the dropdown menu and click the Add button.

The calendar will now be displayed with any other calendars open

  1. Open the Outlook Desktop Client by clicking the Outlook icon on your computer. If you are prompted to log in, enter:
  2. Username: UConn email address
  3. Password: Faculty, staff and students use their NetID password.  Student workers use their student work account password.
  4. Click Calendar, located near the bottom left corner of your Outlook inbox window
  5. In the Home tab, select Open Calendar
  6. Select either From Address Book… , From Room List… or
  7. At the bottom left corner, click on the calendar icon.

  8. Click Add at the top right.

  9. In the drop-down bar, select Open Shared Calendar...

  10. Enter the display name (i.e., ~ITS – Conference Room 102A) or resource number (i.e., resource0010) of the calendar. Double-click the calendar from the search results.

  12. In the top-left search bar, type in the name of the resource.

  13. Select the shared calendar from the list and click OK.

  14. Click OK.

  15. The shared calendar will now appear in the left sidebar. Click the checkmark next to it for it to be displayed.
