Sponsoring Affiliate Accounts

Departments often may need to give individuals temporary access to university resources. These individuals are often temporary contractors or visitors that are otherwise not employed or affiliated with the universityUniversity. By sponsoring an affiliate account for them, they will be assigned a NetID that they can use the same way a full-time employee or student doescan. This NetID would allow allows them to log in to many services , such as UConn's Single Sign-On, ITS Supported Workstations, UCONN-SECURE, etc. Affiliate accounts may be sponsored for up to 12 months from the date of request , and may optionally receive university University email. NetIDWork accounts also receive University email and are given access to Microsoft 365. If you sponsor a NetIDWork account for a student employee, they will receive a new NetID in the format of aaa00000work, where the first 3 letters and 5 numbers match their existing NetID.   Learn how to sponsor NetIDWork accounts.
