WePresents are a wireless presentation device installed in classrooms that allow users to share content from their device to the classroom system without a wired connection.

  • Supports Windows, Mac OS, iOS, and Android
    • Supports Apple AirPlay and Google Cast
    • MirrorOp sender for Windows and Mac and Android
    • Support up to 1080p (standard HD) at 30 frames per second
  • While WePresents support video and audio streaming from your device, we recommend that for any audio/video content, you use the classroom system if possible. This entails using the classroom PC or plugging your laptop into the available HDMI cable

Using the WePresent

  • Laptops - use UCONN-SECURE, UCONN-GUEST or a wired connection
  • Phones using the MirrorOp app - use UCONN-SECURE or UCONN-GUEST
  • Phones using AirPlay or Chrome Cast- connect to the WiFi network created by the device. It will share the name of the room it resides in. Example for Business 106: busn106.wepresent.uconn.edu 

Connecting Through Laptop on UCONN WiFi

  • Start the Classroom System by touching the TouchPanel on the teaching station
  • Select the WePresent source
  • On your laptop, download MirrorOp Sender
  • Open the application
  • Image Removed
  • Click on the arrow in the bottom left to open up the panel
  • Image Removed
  • From here, you can enter the IP or Hostname (either one works the same) and connect to the room
  • Start the Classroom System by touching the TouchPanel on the teaching station
  • Select the WePresent source

Connecting your Phone

  • iPhone - AirPlay
    • Connect to the WiFi Network created by the WePresent
    • Drag up from the bottom of the screen to see your AirPlay options
    • Select the WePresent from the available devices list
  • Google Phone
    • Connect to the WiFi Network created by the WePresent
    • If you don't have a shortcut to Chrome Cast in your drag-down menu, search for Cast in the settings app and there you will see the available devices
    • Select the WePresent from the list

Connecting your Phone using the App

  • Download MirrorOp Presenter
  • Open the App
  • Choose one of the four options:
  • Image Removed
    • The first option will share your whole screen
    • The second will share a specific document
    • The third will share a specific picture
    • The fourth will share your phone's camera with the room
  • Enter the IP or Hostname of the WePresent in the room, both work the same
  • To stop casting, click on the square at the bottom of the app screen

Faculty, staff, and students are able to share their laptops, tablets, and phones wirelessly in classrooms. These wireless presentation devices allow a presenter to wirelessly share content to the displays in the classroom without being bound to the podium.

Connecting your Device

  1. Tap on the classroom touch panel to wake the classroom system.

  2. Chose WePresent or Wireless Presentation (AirServer).
