Departments may need to give individuals temporary access to university resources. These individuals are often temporary contractors or visitors that are otherwise not employed or affiliated with the University. By sponsoring an affiliate account for them, they will be assigned a NetID that they can use the same way a full-time employee or student can. This NetID allows them to log in to many services such as UConn's Single Sign-On, ITS Supported Workstations, UCONN-SECURE, etc. Affiliate accounts may be sponsored for up to 12 months from the date of request and may optionally receive University email.
