Importing Accounting Lines into a DI
Staff can import Accounting Lines directly into any eDoc with Accounting Lines. Keep the following guidelines in mind as you import Accounting Lines:
The spreadsheet must be saved as a CSV file.
If an import is done on both the TO and FROM sides, then each must have its own import file.
You may want to save frequently used templates on your desktop for easy access.
To import Accounting Lines,
Click on the question mark icon next to "Distribution of Income and Expense."
Under the "Overview" sub-menu, click Data Import Templates, and choose the appropriate template for the eDoc.
An Excel spreadsheet will open. Enter the Accounting Lines. The columns with red lines are required.
The Amount column should not contain any commas. If commas are present, change the format to General in that column to remove them.
Delete the first three lines of text.
Save the spreadsheet as a CSV file.
Click Save as Type.
Select CSV Comma Delimited.
Click Yes for each of the prompts that appear on your screen.
From the Accounting Lines section of the eDoc, click Import Lines.
Click the Choose File button.
Locate your CSV import file.
Click Open.
Click ADD next to the file name.
Your Accounting Lines should now be imported into your eDoc.
