When recording meetings in Webex, you can decide how to recording will look and the layout you choose may can differ from from the meeting's. You can have the recording show all the participants, only the active speaker and content, or just the content regardless of what your view was during the meeting.

Get Started

  1. Go to webex.uconn.edu.
  2.  Click the green UConn Webex Login button. Click here to see the button

  3.  Click the blue Sign In button in the top-right corner of the window. Click here to see the button

  4. Enter your UConn NetID to sign in.

Change Recording Options

This setting will remain until you return here to change it back. Be sure to have the appropriate setting before you begin your meeting!

  1. Choose the Preferences option in the left-hand menu (picture below)
  2. Click on the last tab titled Recording
  3. Choose from the first set of options
    1. Video Thumbnails View
      1. This option will record the content as well as the thumbnail of each participant.
    2. Active Speaker View
      1. This option puts more emphasis on the content by only showing the thumbnail of the active (speaking) participant
    3. Content-only View
      1. This option put the most emphasis on the content by only showing the content. No participants will be seen, even if they were sharing video during the meeting.
  4. Choose the layout for when there is no content being shared
    1. Grid View View
      1. This option will record the last (up to) 25 users who have spoken.
    2. Active Speaker and Thumbnails View
      1. This option will record with emphasis on the current speaker, as well as the thumbnail of the last few speakers.
    3. Active Speaker only View
      1. This option only records the Active Speaker
