Wired connections are when machines are directly connected to a building's data jack via Ethernet cable. Nearly all university-supported desktops and docked laptops will be using this system.

Request a Jack

Departments or individuals who need a jack installed or an existing jack activated so that they can have voice, data, or cable television services should complete the  New Data Jack Request Form. You can also contact the ITS Technology Support Center for assistance.

Report an Issue

Faculty, staff, and students who are experiencing connectivity issues in any UConn buildings, including residence halls, should contact the ITS Technology Support Center for assistance.

Wired connections are most frequently given 137.99 or 10.16 IP ranges, which gives the computer access to UConn systems that may otherwise require a Virtual Private Network (VPN).
