Installing Microsoft 365 Apps on Personal Devices
Students, faculty, and staff can download Microsoft 365 (formerly known as Microsoft Office) applications on up to five University-owned or personal devices, including computers, tablets, and mobile devices, through their University Microsoft 365 Pro Plus subscription. If you install Microsoft 365 on a University Windows computer bound to UConn's Active Directory, the device will not count as one of your five devices.
This copy of Microsoft 365 will be licensed by your UConn Microsoft account and will remain valid as long as you are a current student, faculty, or staff member. Microsoft 365 is a subscription-based service. Once an individual leaves or is no longer associated with UConn, this person no longer has access to the apps and files saved within their UConn Microsoft 365 account.Â
Administrative access to the computer is needed to complete this installation. Some University machines already have the software pushed to them making it available to install through the "Software Center" program, which does not require administrative privileges.Â
Go to https://office.com.
Log in using your UConn email address and NetID password.
On the Microsoft 365 dashboard in the upper right corner, select Install apps and Microsoft 365 Apps. A download of the installer should begin automatically.
Open the download and follow the instructions to install Microsoft 365.
Once installed, you will log in to Microsoft 365 applications using your UConn email address and NetID password.
If you need assistance with the installation process, contact the ITS Technology Support Center.
