ClickShare how-to

Basic Setup and Use

  • Confirm the TV is turned on (a white light will appear on the bottom-left of the screen bezel).
  • Confirm the ClickShare is powered on and the 2 horizontal lights on the front of the device are solid white.
  • Change the TV input to HDMI #1 using the TV remote (if it is not on the correct input). HDMI #1 will be labeled ClickShare on the TV input menu.
  • On the screen, the default ClickShare instruction screen will appear (a red and white screen with instructions).
  • Remove a ClickShare puck from the cup on the front table and plug it into a USB port on your computer
  • On Windows:
    • Wait for Windows to recognize the puck as a removable (flash) drive. This may take a few seconds or up to a minute.
    • In Explorer: open the ClickShare drive, and double-click the ClickShare for Windows application.
    • An icon will appear in the system tray, and a small window will appear. Wait for the message to display Ready to Share.
    • Press the large center button on the ClickShare puck. Your screen will mirror to the TV, and the light on the puck will turn red, indicating that sharing has started.
    • Windows will automatically select the ClickShare as the default audio output. If it does not, see the troubleshooting section.
  • On Mac:
    • Wait for Mac OS to recognize the puck as a removable (flash) drive. This may take a few seconds or up to a minute.
    • On the desktop, or in Finder: open the ClickShare drive, double-click the ClickShare for Mac application.
    • An icon will appear in the menu bar, and a small window will appear. Wait for the message to display Ready to Share.
    • Press the large center button on the ClickShare puck. Your screen will mirror to the TV, and the light on the puck will turn red, indicating that sharing has started.
    • Mac OS will not change your default audio output to the ClickShare device. To use the TV speakers as your audio output:
      • Open System Preferences > Sound, then select the Output tab.
      • In the list of devices, select ClickShare.
      • You may need to completely close (File > Quit) any applications and reopen them in order for sound to play through the TV
  • Your screen is now mirrored to the TV. To stop sharing, press the large center button on the ClickShare puck again. The light on the puck will turn white, and screen sharing will stop.

 Multiple displays

  • Up to 4 pucks can be used at once, and will split the TV screen accordingly.
  • Follow the above procedure for connecting additional pucks concurrently to the ClickShare.
  • When there are multiple computers sharing via the ClickShare, and you would like to take control of the entire TV, press and hold the large center button on the ClickShare puck for 2 seconds.
