This article is for faculty and staff who wish to learn how to grant exceptions to students who need an extra attempt or access to the assessment for tests and assignments in ultra course view.

Accommodations and Exceptions in ultra course view are two different settings. An accommodation applies to overall course materials for a specific student. However, an exception applies to a specific assessment for a specific student.

To give an exception to a specific students:

  1. Navigate to your ultra course on HuskyCT

  2. Select the Gradebook tab

  3. Choose the assignment you would like set an exception

  4. Click the three dots next to the student’s name you desire to give an exception and Add or edit exceptions

  5. From the right side popup panel, you can adjust Assessment due date, show date, and Attempts allowed.

  6. Once the setting is done, click Save.

You can also remove the exception from Add or edit exceptions. On the top of the right side panel, it will give an option of Reset settings. After resetting, please make sure it is saved.
