This applies only to courses using the new Ultra Course View. Use the original course view copy instructions to copy into an Original course.
Copying content into an Ultra course works differently than in an original course. In an original course, you start by navigating to the content you want to push content from. In an Ultra course, you navigate to the course you want to pull content into.
To copy content into an Ultra course from an Original or Ultra course, use the following steps:
Open the course that you want to copy content into.
On the Course Content page (the main landing page in your course), select the three dot menu next to the magnifying glass search icon on the Course Content page.
Select Copy Items from the drop-down menu.
A list of your courses appears. If the course you’re looking for isn’t on the first page, use the arrows to navigate or use the search bar. You can also search for Organizations by selecting the Organizations tab.
To copy the entire course:
Select the checkbox next to the name of the course to do a full course copy. Do not click the name of the course if you wish to copy its entire contents.
Go to step 6
To copy only parts of the course:
Click the name (not the checkbox) of the course that you want to copy some content from.
You will be shown a list of the content from the chosen course. Select a checkbox to copy that content and all child content (for example, all content in a content area), or click the name of that content to selectively mark individual content for copying. You can choose as many or as few items as you would like.
Use the breadcrumb trail to navigate back and forth along the content path.
Repeat steps 5a through 5c until you have marked all the content you want to copy
Go to step 6
Select Start Copy.
You can’t do a full course copy from the course you’re currently working in. Make sure you have navigated out of the course you wish to do a full course copy for before copying.
When you perform a full course copy, all settings are preserved (including due dates, visibility states, and release conditions). However, course links inside of learning modules with forced sequencing can’t be copied. This prevents users from navigating outside of the forced sequencing option. When a course link is copied, all associated content is also copied.
Copies are a queued process. The spinner that displays at the bottom of the Course Content page is a validation check. You don’t need to stay on the Course Content page for the copy to be processed. If you want to check if a copy has been completed, go to the More options menu from the Course Content page and select Course Tasks and Logs.
