About SafeAssign Reports

SafeAssign is a tool used in Blackboard that detects plagiarism on submitted assignments. SafeAssign produces a report and score from 0% to 100% based on amount of material plagiarized in the submission. The report shows the source of the plagiarized information and previews a comparison between the source and the submitted work.

Finding SafeAssign Reports

  1. Enter your Ultra Course.

  2. Find “Gradebook” at the top of the page.

3. Find and select the Assignment that you are finding the Report for.

4. You should be brought to the Submissions page of this Assignment.

5. Click on the students’ name to see their submission.

6. In the top right, click on the box that says, “Originality Report”.

7. The report should give you a risk report and a percentage.

8. If you click the last box, you will be brought to a more detailed Originality Report where you can find the sources of plagiarism.

9. By clicking on the highlighted text, you will be able to see a short comparison of the plagiarized submission and the original source of the material.

SafeAssign Report Limitations

Based on the initial options chosen in the SafeAssign settings, certain databases can be removed from the SafeAssign report such as Global Reference and Internet Databases, which would then only compare student work with other student work
