Please read the below before requesting a laptop.

Requesting a laptop

To request a laptop, you must fill out the LCI Student Laptop Request form to create a ticket.

Your loaner request ticket will be sent to the Director of Academic Affairs for approval. Once approved, you will be contacted to schedule an appointment through the ticketing system. Appointments will be held on the first floor of the Jeremy Richard Library at the Stamford ITS Help Desk. If the IT attendant has stepped away from the desk when you arrive, you can call 203-251-9599 to reach someone.

Failing to arrive at confirmed scheduled time will result in the request being closed. You will be given one opportunity to respond to re-open the ticket and reschedule an appointment. After that, the ticket will be closed permanently. You will need to submit a new ticket and go through the approval process again.

Returning a laptop

Stamford ITS may send a courtesy email reminder to you a week prior to your laptop due date. However, you are responsible for knowing and returning the laptop by the due date (end of current semester unless otherwise indicated in the approval process). If you wish to request an extension, you will need to submit the request before the due date via the ticket. Laptop returns will be handled at the Stamford ITS Help Desk on the first floor of the Jeremy Richard Library. If the IT attendant has stepped away from the desk when you arrive, you can call 203-251-9599 to reach someone. Do not leave your laptop at the desk if unattended. Returns should be completed between the hours of 10 am and 4pm Monday-Friday.

Support for the laptop

Administrative rights to the laptop are provided to the loanee when signing it out. Windows updates are routinely pushed out to the laptop when needed. Stamford ITS provides support if you experience any technical issues with the laptop. In the event you experience an issue, please create a new ticket at our Stamford ITS webpage.
