The purpose of this document is to outline the process for uploading data (specifically Excel and Text files) in WebFOCUS version 8.2.07. In this version, the data within these files is now loaded into a master file (.mas) and a copy of the original file (excel (.xlsx) or text (.txt,.csv)) will also be created in the application folder.
Upload Data
Navigate to the Content Folder within which you plan to use your data.
Right-click on the folder, select Upload, and then click Data. You will be able to choose the location where the data will be stored in a later step.
Under LOCAL FILES select the type of file you wish to upload, in the next window, select the folder and file you wish to upload. You have a choice of selecting local files on your PC or files on a server.
There are three steps required before you click on the Load button to load the data.
In this example an Excel spreadsheet is getting uploaded.
Click on the hamburger icon to the right of Adapter: and select the desired adapter. Click on Excel and click on Select on the bottom right of the screen.
Click on Application Folder: and select the desired folder. Click on the folder you wish to upload to and click on Select on the bottom right of the screen.
If you wish to rename the file you’re about to upload, click on the name and update to the desired name.
Click on Load. If you’re loading to master that already exists, you will get a warning.
Click OK, Close the tab. Upload is complete.
If the uploaded file does not already exist, the screen will look like this.
Close the tab, Upload is complete.
For updates to Excel files: If your spreadsheet has the same name and the same worksheet name, simply reupload the file.
