This article is for instructors looking to create a test with Respondus 4.0.
Respondus 4.0 allows instructors to create and edit tests, which can then be uploaded into HuskyCT. There are two supported methods. First, creating a test using the Respondus 4.0 interface. Second, importing questions from a Word Document.
This article assumes you have already downloaded and installed Respondus 4.0. If this is your first time using Respondus 4.0, review the instructions for first setup before proceeding.
Method 1: Creating a new test as a Respondus 4.0 File
Creating a new Respondus file
Launch Respondus 4.0
Respondus 4.0 will open to the Start page, here click Create
Enter the name of the file, and description in the Create New File Dialog box, and click OK
A new Respondus file will be created

Select the desire question type, then fill in the relevant information

A windows will appear showing how the question will render in Internet Explorer
Method 2: Importing a Word Document into Respondus 4.0
This method is used to create a test from an existing word document containing questions. This allows instructors to insert graphics and other special formatting easier than using the Respondus interface. Instructors can use this sample document as a model of Respondus formatting.
The Word document must follow the Respondus formatting convention to import correctly.
Launch Respondus 4.0
On the Start window, click Import Questions
On the Import Questions dialog box
Click the drop down menu next to Type of File and select Microsoft Word 2007 (DOCX)
Click Browse next to File Name, and select the file to import
Specify the location to import the new questions, either add them to the current document (Requires a Respondus file be open), or create a new document (Required to enter a name)
Click Preview to review the questions
If the questions appear as expected in the preview, click Finish
