Known issues:
Sound card drives don't work without the proper driver.
USB-C adapters are unreliable. If there are issues, use another adapter.
Some computers didn't come pre-registered in direct access, do a GPUPDATE /FORCE before giving the computer out.
Some computers will come with Matt as the admin on them, remove his name and add the user as admin. Matt will get inherited permissions but will eliminate confusion as to who owns the computer.
Unable to re-image laptops at the moment. Do not re-image.
Unable to let faculty into building, these instructions should work at the Franklin Street Entrance
Latitude 7400 and XPS 7390
Verify the computer is slated to go to the appropriate person in Active Directory. This is required to be done pre-deployment. If not, correct or submit ticket if needed.
Use USB-C adapter to connect to Ethernet
Login as netid admin
Prevent the computer from sleeping so it stays awake on AC power so it gets all policies.
Download and install the following driver: \\uconn\efs\Stamford\TSG\Install\Drivers\Latitude 7400\Audio\Realtek-High-Definition-Audio-Driver_FCPP2_WIN_6.0.8838.1_A09.exe for Latitude, XPS no action needed
Connect to UConn Secure
Do a gpupdate /force
Verify the user is an admin, add them if not.
If possible, leave computer on overnight to get software/policies (optional, not required)
Open the start menu, type Notepad > Open File Location > Shift + Right Click Notepad and run as different user
Have the user login with their NETID, this will cache their profile.
Restart and have the user login
Assist with user requested customization as needed.
Recommend at a minimum, signing into outlook, one drive, adding P and Q drives.
