Joining Webex Breakout Sessions

When participating in a Webex session, you may find yourself automatically assigned to a breakout session or with the freedom of moving to a session of your choosing.

If the Host has assigned you to a session:

You will receive a prompt alerting you that you have been assigned. You will then either be moved into the session automatically or given the choice to Join or Join later. If you choose to join later, you will need to join the breakout session using the button above the Participant Panel.

If the Host has chosen to let participants choose any session:

1. Webex Desktop App
   1. Look in the green box that sits atop the Participant Panel. If you do not see the Participant Panel, click on Participants in the bottom-right corner of your window.
   2. Click on Show other sessions.
   3. Click Join on the session that you would like to join.
      
2. Webex Web App
   1. If you clicked Join from browser, or you are on a Linux device (including Chromebooks), you will have joined using the lightweight, browser version of Webex.
   2. Look in the gray box that sits atop the Participant Panel. If you do not see the Participant Panel, click on Participants in the bottom-right corner of your window.
   3. Click on Show all breakout sessions.
      
      
   4. Click on Join to join the desired room. You may also click on the caret preceding the session name to see the other participants in the session.
