You may turn on registration for either Meetings or Webinars. Registration can be enabled during session creation or after the fact.

Enabling registration will generate two unique join links. Continue reading to learn how to use them.

Registration should not be thought of as a security measure. Registrations is a means of learning more about your attendees.

  • Requiring Attendees to register will give you the chance to find out information about your attendees.

    • You may ask for name, contact information, location, and job title among other things. If you enable Registration simply to learn more about your attendees, be sure to check Automatically accept all registration requests. View the last section on this page to learn how to manage your Registrants after you are down scheduling.

  • Registration should not be thought of as a security measure.

    • Attendees may still forward the meeting invitation to others or join using a name and email address that doesn't match their registration.

Enabling Registration

Registration is available only if the meeting has a password, isn't recurring, isn't restricted to invited attendees only, and doesn't have the Join before host option enabled.

  • While editing your Webex session, click on Advanced options.

  • Check the box for Registration - Required.

  • Click on Customize registration form to choose which questions you would like to be included. You may make them optional or required. Click on Preview Form to see how the form will look.

  • Click on Set up approval rules to set up an auto approve rule.

    • Example: you can auto-approve UConn registrants by setting Emailcontainsuconn.edu

      • If you only want UConn participants, after setting up this rule you have no need to check the registrants who were not auto-approved (process shown below in Manage Registrants section).

Two join links?

With registration enabled, you will have two join links.

  • Registration link:

    • This link will bring users to a separate webpage that asks them to register.

  • Meeting link

    • This link will bring users directly to the session, bypassing the registration. This is useful for latecomers or last minute additions.
